About the Role:
We are looking for a skilled and motivated Sheet Metal Worker to join our experienced production team. This role involves working on a wide variety of projects—from one-off prototypes to low-volume production runs—requiring a high level of precision, adaptability, and craftsmanship.
You will play a key role in delivering high-quality fabricated components that meet strict customer specifications and tight lead times.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manufacture and assemble sheet metal components for prototype and production work.
- Interpret and work from detailed engineering drawings and specifications.
- Operate advanced machinery including press brakes, laser cutters, and fabrication equipment.
- Carry out welding (including MIG/TIG) and finishing to a high standard.
- Work across a range of materials including stainless steel, aluminium, and mild steel.
- Collaborate with project managers and engineers to meet customer requirements.
- Ensure all work complies with quality standards such as ISO 9001 and AS9100
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organised working environment.
Requirements:
- The role requires manual lifting so applicants should be fit and able
- Actively seek opportunities for Continuous Improvement
- Significant experience of thin gauge TIG & MIG welding
- Sheet Metal Fabrication experience
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- The ability to read and work from engineering drawings
- City & Guilds Qualifications in Welding and Fabrication / Apprentice in Engineering would be an advantage
Desirable Skills:
- Experience in prototype or low-volume manufacturing environments
- Familiarity with laser cutting or CNC machinery
- Understanding of tight tolerance work and inspection processes
- Relevant engineering or fabrication qualifications
